Our Commitment

Bombyx LLC is dedicated to ensuring that bom-byx.com and the Bombyx platform are accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that digital tools should be usable by everyone, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform for all users, including those who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, voice control software, or keyboard-only navigation.

Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time project. We integrate accessibility considerations into our product development cycle and respond to user feedback to identify and resolve barriers.

Conformance Standard

Bombyx targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 AA is the most widely recognized and legally mandated standard for web accessibility in the European Union, United States, and many other jurisdictions.

We aim to meet all four WCAG principles:

  • Perceivable: Information and interface components are presentable to users in ways they can perceive;
  • Operable: Interface components and navigation are operable via multiple input methods;
  • Understandable: Information and user interface operation are understandable;
  • Robust: Content is robust enough to be interpreted by a wide variety of assistive technologies.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, Bombyx implements the following technical and process measures:

Semantic HTML : Proper use of HTML landmarks, headings, and ARIA attributes to support screen reader navigation.

  • Keyboard Navigation : All interactive elements are fully accessible via keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators.
  • Colour Contrast : Text and interface elements meet the WCAG 2.1 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1.
  • Alternative Text : All non-decorative images include descriptive alt text for screen reader users.
  • Scalable Text : Text resizes up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Error Identification : Form errors are clearly identified and described to help users correct submissions.
  • No Seizure Risk : No content flashes at rates known to cause photosensitive seizures.
  • Consistent Navigation : Repeated components appear in the same location and order throughout the platform.

Assistive Technology Compatibility

The Bombyx platform is designed and tested to be compatible with the following assistive technologies and browser combinations:

  • NVDA + Firefox (Windows);
  • JAWS + Chrome (Windows);
  • VoiceOver + Safari (macOS / iOS);
  • TalkBack + Chrome (Android);
  • Windows high-contrast mode;
  • Zoom and browser-based text enlargement tools.

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, some areas of the platform may not yet fully meet this standard. Known current limitations include:

Complex data tables: Some advanced logistics dashboard tables may not have complete ARIA table roles, which may affect screen reader navigation. We are actively working to resolve this.

Third-party content: Some embedded third-party components (maps, payment forms) are managed by external providers and may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. We work with these providers to improve accessibility.

PDF documents: Older or system-generated PDF documents may not be fully tagged for screen reader access. We are in the process of upgrading our document generation pipeline.

We prioritise resolving known issues and welcome reports of any additional barriers you encounter.

Multilingual Accessibility

The Bombyx platform is available in multiple languages, including Arabic (right-to-left text). Our accessibility measures are applied consistently across all supported languages and scripts, including proper text direction, font rendering, and layout adjustments for RTL content.

Third-Party Content

Certain features of the Bombyx platform integrate third-party services (such as Stripe for payment processing, mapping tools, or video conferencing). Bombyx cannot guarantee the accessibility of these third-party interfaces. Where alternatives are available, we will provide accessible options or workarounds.

Please include “Accessibility” in the subject line of your email. We aim to respond to accessibility-related requests within 5 business days and to resolve or propose alternatives for reported barriers within 30 days.

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you may contact your relevant national equality or accessibility authority:

  • EU users: Contact your national Digital Accessibility enforcement body;
  • UK users: The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC);
  • US users: The Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.

The Bombyx platform relies on the following technologies for conformance:

  • HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+);
  • WAI-ARIA 1.1 (where applicable);
  • SVG 1.1 (for icons and graphics).
